Slow-Cooked Cashew Chicken
I make this cashew
chicken in my Fagor® Multi-Functional Cooker where it cooks in about 2 hours
(mine runs hot), but you could also make it in a traditional slow cooker; just
allow a longer cook time.
Ingredients
¼ cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup roasted unsalted cashews
¾ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup rice wine vinegar
⅓ cup ketchup
3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh
ginger
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
4 green onions, sliced diagonally
Step 1
Combine cornstarch and pepper in
a resealable plastic bag. Add chicken pieces and shake bag to coat with
cornstarch mixture.
Step 2
Heat oil in skillet over
medium-high heat. Brown chicken about 2 minutes on each side. Transfer to a
multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Fagor®).
Step 3
Combine cashews, soy sauce, rice
vinegar, ketchup, sweet chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, red pepper
flakes, and sesame oil in a bowl.
Step 4
Pour over chicken. Close and lock
lid. Select Slow Cook function.
Step 5
Cook on Low until flavors are
well combined and chicken is cooked through, about 2 hours. Garnish with green
onions.
Cook's Note:
Cashews will be softer if you add them in the beginning of the cooking
process. If you like the cashews to have more of a crunch, add them right
before serving.

Ayam Gajus Masak Perlahan
Saya membuat ayam gajus
ini di Fagor® Multi-Functional Cooker saya di mana ia memasak dalam masa
kira-kira 2 jam (tambang panas), tetapi anda juga boleh membuatnya dalam periuk
tradisional; biarkan masa memasak yang lebih lama.
Bahan-bahan
1 sudu teh lada hitam
2 paun dada ayam tanpa kulit tanpa tulang,
dipotong menjadi kepingan 1-inci
1 sudu besar
minyak canola
1 cawan gajus panggang tanpa garam
3/4 cawan kicap kurang natrium
1/3 cawan cuka wain beras
1/3 cawan kicap
3 sudu besar
sos cili manis
2 sudu besar gula perang gelap
5 ulas
bawang putih
1 sudu
besar halia segar parut
1/2 sudu teh serpihan lada merah
2 sudu teh minyak bijan bakar
4 bawang
hijau, dihiris secara menyerong
Arahan
Langkah 1
Gabungkan jagung dan lada dalam beg plastik boleh
disejuk semula. Masukkan kepingan ayam dan goncang plastik untuk menyalut
campuran jagung.
Langkah 2
Panaskan minyak dalam api sederhana tinggi. Ayam perang
kira-kira 2 minit di setiap sisi. Pindahkan ke periuk tekanan pelbagai fungsi
(seperti Fagor®).
Langkah 3
Gabungkan kacang gajus, kicap, cuka beras, ketchup,
sos cili manis, gula perang, bawang putih, halia, serpihan lada merah, dan
minyak bijan dalam mangkuk.
Langkah 4
Tuangkan ke atas ayam. Tutup dan kunci tudung.
Pilih Fungsi Masak Perlahan.
Langkah 5
Masak pada api rendah sehingga rasa digabungkan
dengan baik dan ayam dimasak melalui, kira-kira 2 jam. Hiasan dengan bawang
hijau.
Nota Masakan:
Kacang gajus akan lebih lembut jika anda
menambahnya pada proses awal memasak. Jika anda suka kacang gajus lebih rangup,
tambahkannya sebelum dihidang.
